Meal Magic, Inc. has been serving individuals and families in Southern Wisconsin for over 20 years and was owned and operated by Rob & Trudy Likes until 2019. Gregg and Janine Hegle took over in 2019.
Gregg has been delivering meals for Meal Magic, Inc. since 2016, so he is a familiar face to many. Gregg also drives for Richwood Transport, so sometimes customers see him in his other job, as well.
From 2003 to 2016 Gregg took his wife and three children to Indonesia where he was teaching computers to PK3 – 12. However, prior to that move, his wife Janine was a Meal Magic Chef from 1999-2003. She’s back in the kitchen now after many years of teaching high school English in Indonesia.
Gregg and Janine raised three now married children. They each graduated from the Bandung Alliance International School in Bandung, Indonesia and now live in Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nebraska.
Gregg enjoys singing with the Badger Chordhawks and Janine enjoys playing bridge through the Janesville Women’s Club, taking lessons on the mountain dulcimer at The Gathering Place, and writing. Her fiction novella, Dressed in Fine Linen: The Daze of Adulting, is being published in 2019 by Westbow Press.
Gregg has been attending Bethel Church in Janesville most of his life and Gregg and Janine are actively involved in discipleship and missions through the church. They both love God’s awesome grace.
Meal Magic Philosophy
Food should be satisfying to the eye, the tongue, and the soul.
The Meal Magic philosophy promotes wholesome food prepared well and delivered with outstanding personal service that is second to none. It is rarely fried, and probably not considered “gourmet,” so all the ingredients can be pronounced, and you should be able to recognize what you are eating. This is the food we bring to you and we hope it magically brings you back home.
Company History, Growth, and Original Owners
Initially Meal Magic operated as a Traditional Personal Chef Service with Trudy Likes and other chefs going to each customer’s home and doing all the cooking and food packaging on site.
In 2003 Meal Magic made a major change in operations which has had great benefits for our customers. A Commercial Kitchen was leased and became fully licensed and regulated by local and state agencies. Now food could be prepared on site and deliver to customers.
The huge benefit to customers was that they did not have the inconvenience of having a chef in their home for 6 to 7 hours using their kitchen. And, of course, now more people could benefit from Meal Magic, Inc.
Meal Magic, Inc. took another major step in 2007 by purchasing their own building and creating a customized commercial kitchen that is totally dedicated to more efficiently serving our customers.
This move has allowed Meal Magic, Inc. to meet the increasing demand for Home Delivered Meal Service, and the greatly improved efficiency has allowed Meal Magic to maintain the high quality of food and service, while continuing to hold down prices.
